The contemporary cubism in the animal portraits of Diana Achtzig
The studied contemporary artist Diana Achtzig moves in the figurative-abstract contemporary Cubism with her oil paintings in the style of Pablo Picasso (1881 - 1973) in the current art exhibition at the Alessandro Abadetto Galerie from 12/01/2021 to 01/31/2022. This Berlin gallery was founded in 1974 by the Italian art collector Alessandro Abadetto. In this art gallery, the oil painter was early included in the permanent gallery program. As was the studied oil painter Anton Van De Amoste from the University of the Arts Berlin. It was only much later that she could become a guest curator there.
The compositions of the studied animal portrait painter Diana Achtzig move in the tension between slightly abstract figuration and contemporary Cubism. The often clear visual language is striking to the viewers. The animal portrait painter Achtzig also implements socially significant pets such as cats and dogs in these oil paintings. Animals have a positive effect on humans, both remain healthy in the long term through fresh air and regular exercise. The artist sees an ecologically important aspect in this.
Especially the more resource-saving recycling, i.e., the reuse of old canvases and paint residues, sustainably enhances her contemporary cubist-like painting. To protect the sensitive ecosystem, more environmentally friendly working methods are also used in the art market by the artist Diana Achtzig. In the area of upcycling, her sculptures are made from various found pieces of plastic waste. These include the material Econyl (plastic without crude oil) and PET bottles as a base. She also emphasizes the sustainable and important cycle of plastics through the RPET process – A new life for PET bottles.
For all interested visitors, this art exhibition can be viewed from 12/01/2021 to 01/31/2022.
