Procedure and Material

It was planned that Diana Achtzig would present various watercolor techniques for about three hours. In addition, participants should be able to work on their own pictures. Personal photos were welcome as templates, and reference books on watercolor painting were available.

It was best to bring your own materials:

  • Watercolor paints in pans or tubes
  • Brushes
  • Watercolor paper in A4, A3, or A2
  • Water container and cloth

Anyone who forgot something could rely on paints, brushes, paper, water containers, and cloths from the gallery.

Why paint in a group?

Behind the workshop was the idea that artists can achieve more in a group. Diana Achtzig named three reasons for this:

  • Network: Those who want to exhibit need contacts with galleries, curators.
  • Further education: Regular learning also shows collectors that an artist is developing further.
  • Motivation: In a group, it is easier to tackle and stick to one's own projects.
