Berlin, 15.12.22 - In a zeitgeist marked by turbulence, human coexistence often occurs in spheres that seem indeterminable. Nevertheless, our random, involuntary coexistence can reveal interesting structures. CUMULUS, the cloud as a symbol of the equally magnificent and fleeting union of different forms of artistic expression, is the title of the interdisciplinary presentation of the project Art Up! Crossover Creation. The opening takes place on Thursday, January 19, 2023, from 7 PM at the Projektraum Bethanien.

As part of "Art up! Crossover Creation", the artists Rebekka Macht (painting), Andrea Werner (painting, drawing), Heike Jederlein (painting, objects, performance), Diana Achtzig (painting, sculpture), Gina Melosi (video, sculpture, performance) and Antje Meyer (photography, video) as well as the musicians Claudia Tesorino (composition, saxophone, piano) and Yair Karelic (composition, electric guitar) embarked on a cross-disciplinary experiment. The result: an impressive jumble of eight unique artistic perspectives that challenge the senses of the recipients.

Rebekka Macht develops a female gaze in large-format portrait and nude paintings and creates space for ambiguities. Andrea Werner separates and combines visual expressions into her own wall structures. Heike Jederlein creates paintings with an infinity character and places everyday items like cookies in a new context. Diana Achtzig analyzes relationships in erotic depictions. Gina Melosi performatively examines the relationship of the body to the variability of nature. Yair Karelic explores the boundary between sound and image in his compositions. Antje Meyer investigates deceleration and a return to simplicity in form and movement in her photo and video works. Claudia Tesorino sets visuals to music in her compositions, creating extraordinary moods.

CUMULUS was accompanied within the framework of "Art up! Crossover Creation". The project "Art up! Crossover Creation" is funded by the European Social Fund and the program Qualification in the Cultural Economy (KuWiQ) of the Senate Department for Culture and Europe.
