The DEGEWO Hochhaus Galerie showcases the works of acrylic painter Elfe Manuela Weger. From 21.09 to 23.11.2022, you can admire her abstract paper works under the title "The Abstract World of Elfe Manuela Weger".
Elfe Manuela Weger – a renowned artist of the art scene
Elfe finds her inspiration in nature. Her works reflect natural events in abstract form. Sometimes, references to other artists can also be discovered. Climate change strongly influences her works. Drought, declining groundwater, drying rivers, and fish die-offs are themes reflected in her paintings.
Elfe draws her inspiration from every season, whether on the terrace, during excursions into nature, or while strolling through the city. When painting, she does not rely on photos; her pictures emerge from a lengthy thought process. In 30 works, she shows how these thoughts take shape on paper.
Her art thrives on the natural events she encounters and translates them into a vibrant play of colors. Her works are colorful and address the theme of climate change, sometimes gently, sometimes dominantly. She repeatedly integrates her favorite color, gold.
Since 2019, Elfe has focused on acrylic painting after experimenting with oil and watercolor. She works on paper and canvas. The process of capturing the play of colors in nature is often lengthy. It can take months for a painting to reach her complete satisfaction. Drying breaks are necessary before work can continue.
In the high-rise gallery, her works on paper are presented.
Elfe constantly evolves her style.
Since my birth, I have lived and worked in Berlin-Biesdorf Süd. In 2019, I showed my art to a wider audience for the first time. Training with the renowned artist and lecturer Diana Achtzig has helped me refine and develop my style.
