The exhibition concept "PVC Kunst"
The studied sculptor Diana Achtzig will exhibit two of her recycling sculptures on Saturday, 18.02.2023 at 6 PM in the Projektraum Galerie M at Marzahner Promenade 46 in 12679 Berlin during another group exhibition titled "PVC Kunst". Previously, the contemporary painter had participated in the exhibition "Beton Fuchs" with an animal portrait oil painting on canvas.
This art exhibition titled "PVC Art" showcases socially critical artworks by contemporary artists from international perspectives across various generations. It was only in 1869 that John Wesley Hyatt invented the first synthetic polymer. Back then, plastic was celebrated as the greatest innovation. Yet, it became the gradual downfall for every single ocean with living creatures in it. The carpet of waste on the water is just as life-threatening for animals as the submerged and drifting remnants of synthetic fishing nets. A multitude of animals perish helplessly and miserably in the drifting nets. Microplastics are now found in every marine animal. Is that healthy for humans?

This group exhibition presents positions (artists) that critically engage with plastic in their artistic practice in a variety of ways. They recognize the environmental problems of our time and address them in their works. Artists who also have a new approach to the future or want to explore a solution for the material with the highest risk of environmental pollution, plastic, are represented here. The "Neue Kunst Initiative Marzahn-Hellersdorf" (www.nki-berlin.de) organizes this artistic exhibition. It is funded by the district culture fund.
