"We – Togetherness": The KunGus Berlin at the Youth[Resistance]Museum in the Galiläa Church

First group exhibition of 17 female artists and guests, July 4 to August 30, 2020

A group of artistically active women, formed through social networks, appeared together in public for the first time in 2020. Their motto: "We – Togetherness".

Painted stones as a business card

Almost out of nowhere, they appeared: The KunGus Berlin left individually painted stones, accompanied by the invitation to pick up and take these small artworks. A friendly way to introduce themselves and invite everyone to get to know the group.

In the summer of 2020, the idea took the next step into the public. "We – Togetherness" was the name of the first exhibition, deliberately bilingual. The community project aimed to bring people together in a relaxed and very real way.

The Essentials at a Glance

  • The exhibition "We – Togetherness" ran from July 4 to August 30, 2020.

Who the KunGus are

The KunGus originated from a heartfelt wish of Manuela Kellermann, with the help of social networks. On their flyer, they call themselves Kunst Guerillitas Berlin. The group consists exclusively of women engaged in artistic activities. Men are not excluded: they are welcome as guest exhibitors, helpers, or friends.

"We" also stands for the diversity of materials, which are as multifaceted as the artists themselves: paper, collages and installations, sculpture and textile works, various painting techniques, photography and video projects.
