An online vernissage

Under the title "Digital Presentation of Modern Painting, Street Art, and Photographic Art," Achtzig Galerie Berlin held a group exhibition from September 4 to 30, 2020. Since openings with many guests were prohibited at that time, it took place purely digitally.

The Essentials in Brief

  • The digital group exhibition ran from September 4 to 30, 2020.
  • Guests were Petertil, Rabenstein, Ott, and Bandurski.
  • Displayed were painting, drawing, mixed media, street art, and photographic art.
  • Additionally, eight artists from the gallery program exhibited.

The artists

As guests, Ott, Bandurski, Rabenstein, and Petertil showcased their works. From the permanent program of the gallery were:

  • Hanna Albrecht
  • Renélo Mooschaer (UdK Berlin)
  • Emilia Blauzweig (UdK Berlin)
  • Kathleen van Sterge (UdK Berlin)
  • Ashley Grik (UdK Berlin)
  • Anton Van De Amoste (UdK Berlin)
  • Diana Achtzig (UdK Berlin)
  • Per Cbelli (University of Bordeaux, Sorbonne Paris, UdK Berlin)

Petertil: Mixed Media on World Events

The artist Petertil processes current world events in graphic mixed-media images. Her art prints combine painted canvases with her own graphics: She photographs both, merges them in Photoshop, and further edits them. Many of her solo exhibitions took place in Zurich.

Rabenstein: Diversity of Techniques

The painter Rabenstein showcases her versatile talent in abstract paintings, landscapes, still lifes, animal depictions, and anatomical motifs. She works with watercolor, acrylic, oil paint, Polychromos pencils, and resin. A rich color palette, fine shading, and an unconventional visual language are her trademark.

Ott: realistic animals, inspired by Impressionism

The painter Ott learned the basics of drawing from her mother as a child. This was followed by workshops, watercolor courses, and drawing lessons at universities, and she taught herself animal painting. Since December 2019, she has been working as a freelance artist alongside her studies.

Her subjects are animals and nature, which she depicts on paper using oil, graphite, colored pencil, and watercolor. Inspired by Impressionism, particularly by Monet and Liebermann, she emphasizes contrasts, details, and clarity.

Bandurski: strong women

The painter Bandurski paints modern, combative women. Her theme is the non-linear development of women who undergo a process of emotional maturation to become stronger. She infuses her paintings with the passion of life.
