Happy Painting: Manuela Weger

Inspired by Miró and Kandinsky

Her role models are Joan Miró (1893–1983) and Wassily Kandinsky (1866–1944). Painting has always fascinated Manuela Weger. She started with textile painting using stencil techniques and then turned to other techniques. In 2019, the desire to work more with color grew. While doing sports, she learned that there are artist groups in every district of Berlin that one can join. This is how she came to the Monday painting group in Biesdorf in 2019.

Her technique is an experiment in layers: She begins with watercolor on paper and then continues with acrylic paints, colored pencils, pastel chalks, or glitter paints. This creates imaginative animals, colorful houses and landscapes, apple trees with fairy-tale yields, and entirely new figures. Hence the title "Happy Painting." You can read more about her art in the article Degewo Hochhaus Galerie shows the acrylic painter Elfe Manuela Weger.

Monika Bachmann and her "ARTenVielfalt"

The Berlin native Monika Bachmann felt the joy of painting as early as elementary school. Later, she asked herself the question: "What is the point of all the discussion about techniques, isn't it more about the content?"

Her most important technique is watercolor. When someone gave her a box of pastels and colored pencils, she began to experiment. Today she also works with oil, pastels, colored pencil, pencil, and charcoal. Her subjects are just as diverse: cityscapes, boats, flowers, and portraits, including nude drawings. Hence the title "ARTenVielfalt". In 2022, the gallery also showcased her in a solo exhibition, more about it in the article Monika Bachmann: Solo Exhibition "Sehenswert".

The Degewo High-Rise Gallery in Marzahn-Hellersdorf

The double exhibition was shown in the foyer of the Degewo Skywalk at Raoul-Wallenberg-Straße 40/42, 12679 Berlin. Visitors could view the pictures there on their own. Since April 2020, the gallerist Diana Achtzig has been overseeing the art marketing of the gallery. How the gallery works is described in the article Degewo Hochhaus Galerie introduces itself.
